Community involvement
Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.
Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)
Palmers Island Public School P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community. Over the years they have held countless fundraisers, school fetes, raffle to raise money that goes directly back into the school. With completed projects, such as, playground equipment, basketball court upgrade, learning garden, and vegetable patch. The current project is installing a whole school PA system for bell times and drills.
Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!
Join our P&C
Palmers Island Public School P&C Association are always welcoming new members. Feel free to talk to one of our current members about joining or come along to meetings and introduce yourself.
P&C meetings
P&C meetings are held once a month, on Friday afternoons at 3.15 pm.
To accommodate busy schedules and improve participation, The P&C meet face to face and also connect via zoom for families who cannot physically make it but would like to participate. Those attending via zoom will be connected to the screen in our staff meeting room.
If you’d like to join the meeting via zoom, please keep an eye out for the meeting link that will be posted on Class Dojo.
Children are always welcome to attend meetings with you.

Volunteer at our school
Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your school community.
Volunteer opportunities include:
- helping in the canteen
- getting involved in the P&C
- listening to children read in the classroom
- volunteering on sports days and other school events
- helping supervise excursions.
